Plane was rusty indeed. Everywhere there could be rust, there was rust—but fortunately there was very little pitting and I was able to make it shine. Even though the iron was severely pitted on its high end, it sharpened well with just a little work and produced perfect shavings. It was very well described and photographed. It arrived just as I expected, except the tote was broken at its top. I think this happened in shipping, and I was able to fix it so that it can only barely be seen.
