General Purpose Gasket topping
I work on old machinery no longer parts supported and make most all my own gaskets as a result. I use this in addition to a new gasket to improve sealing and fill any areas a gasket might not seal. A little goes a long way, and wear gloves as it's very sticky if you get it on your hands. Remains pliable for a long time and can be used to hold gaskets in place during assembly.

Permatex Form A Gasket
I have used permatex products since the late 60's. I like having enough on hand and the 1lb jar will see me through for quite some time. The fact that it doesnt harden into something requiring a jack hammer to remove is a strong plus for any mechanic!
