The "Right Stuff" One Minute gasket maker
Easy enough to use and assembly-ready in 1-5 minutes. This lets you return the vehicle to service right away as opposed to being forced to allow the product to cure first for anywhere from 12 to a sometimes more preferred 24 hours. The Right Stuff gasket maker is GM, Ford, and Chrysler approved and recommended so there is no practical reason it could not be used on any other vehicle make. It should NOT be used on or as head gasket material. I used this product on a 1997 GM Gen II LT1 5.7L intake manifold at the front and rear where I understand is well known to be a potential leak area. Actual pre-formed gaskets are not recommended for this purpose, only Right Stuff is the preferred product for this job. I took the added step to create added "insurance" for a good deal by dimpling ... Easy enough to use and assembly-ready in 1-5 minutes. This lets you return the vehicle to service right away as opposed to being forced to allow the product to cure first for anywhere from 12 to a sometimes more preferred 24 hours. Those areas are respectively a thinner wall for the back one and a thicker wall for the front one. I could have just grabbed any old gasket maker sealant but I wasn't comfortable with the idea of potentially having to later disassemble, correct, and re-assemble the intake manifold if things didn't go right the first time.
