Tools all & every mechanic need!
While this may seem like a simple tool, it can be a very important tool. This tool also may very well be the reason you're engines life was saved. Whether it's a faulty alternator or AC pump bearing, Etc, to lifter tap, and/or an even worse low end rod knock, by isolating the noise to a specific area can help diagnose an issue with much more accuracy, thus eliminating some of the guesswork. Even an experienced mechanic can sometimes have issues with trying to locate certain noises from a specific area. Especially with a running engine, which also can have several other sounds / noises masking or interfering with the evaluation. So for a tool that doesn't even cost all that much, it will save time and headache. It also can you save an expensive repair, especially when this noise initially ...
