For an older Snap-On quick release ratchet it's plenty adequate for moderate shop use. It's a solid heavy well made tool. It uses a 32 tooth gear, nowhere near the dual 80 tooth beasts in production today. But it is a 1980's tool afterall. To be honest, I'm just going to keep it as a collectors piece, as this one is in too nice of a condition to bang up. Though I don't believe there was ever a repair kit for this 1/2" quick release model. Which is another reason why I don't want to use it. The previous model (S-713) had a recessed q-r button, this model does not. There are still plenty of S-713A's out there yet, so if another gear is needed, they are still pretty plentiful at this point. Legendary Snap-On quality made in the USA!πΊπ²π
