inexpensive and does the job
I needed a 12V to 12V charger to recharge a deep cell battery that I use in my truck on a daily basis. This small device has worked very well - I monitor the voltage on the battery with a volt meter to know when to stop charging.

Not up to the task
I have a BMW x5 2002 that has a faulty heater fan that drains the battery, and I was hoping to use this gadget to avoid jumpstarting the battery using cables because the battery sits on the car trunk below the spare cable and it's hard to reach. Well, it was not up to the task - the led on the drained side was going red every time I tried to do this. Not only it failed but eventually it drained the x5 battery completely, leaving me with no choice but to use the jumper cables the old fashion way.
