Ever so slight marks in a few locations on the stem...probably just measuring marks from Starrett, small spot of mildew/corrosion on the dial and box was damaged from opening. Snap-On GF720 ratchet
Special while older technology, originally using only a 20 tooth count gear with a one tooth per side engagement pawl, the industrial black oxide finished ratchets are good for the reason in which they reduce the chances of damaging sensitive chrome plated or other softer materials nearby when your wrenching. Though the black oxide finish should be kept oiled or lubricated at all times to help prevent it from easily rusting or breaking down. It could also be spray sealed as a second option. And as far as the mechanical upgrades go, the repair kit for this ratchet is RKRAFN720, which can be upgraded to 30 tooth using that repair kit. However with some minor modifications it may probably be possible to convert the open head to the partially sealed head using kit RKRAF730. That is just ...
