So far I have purchased 20 of these lamps to replace the 4 watt and 11 watt quartz bulbs that came in my Malibu type lawn lighting. The stock 12 volt quartz lamps are delicate, they cannot be touched or contaminated with skin oils, and they provide a dim warm yellow color but at 4+ watts are not very bright. These 1 watt LED bulbs reduce consumed wattage on my solar powered lighting (by 75%) reducing drain on my battery, consequently even allowing for a cloudy day with minimal re-charge of the storage battery for a second dust to dawn lighting of the perimeter of my home. An added effect is theses LED bulbs have a white/blue light and a more dark piercing overall effect in my garden. Think the night scenes in Avatar the movie :-) My dog loves them, and I can easily see her without a ... Bulbs are a little longer than original incandescent style bulb
Although the description states that the bulb height is practically the same as the standard 194 bulb, I found that is actually a little over 1/16" taller. Doesn't sound like a lot, however this bulb was purchased for side marker application on my Ford Fusion. The bulb did fit into the housing, but the led chips on the end are touching the outside lense. Not sure how much heat they will generate, but if it melts the lense then I will be rather upset.Although the description states that the bulb height is practically the same as the standard 194 bulb, I found that is actually a little over 1/16" taller. I feel like this is a magnificent product for the price. Seems like excellent quality and they are EXTREMELY bright. Comparing to the original 194 incandescent lamps, their equal in length. I did notice how ever that you have to install them a particular way other wise they do not work. So if they don't work when you turn them on, then just rotate them in the lamp socket. I use them as cab lights on my truck and after 2 weeks, their still just as bright. So far I'm extremely happy with the purchase.
