I actually used these to replace the stock shocks on my 2005 Honda Element. I'd watched a YouTube video which showed these adding around 2.5" additional clearance on the hatch. Sure enough, they worked. Fit perfectly and not only do I no longer have a saggy lift gate but I gained enough clearance so I can stand fully upright when under the raised door. Being an Element camper this is way more valuable than it seems. Ran a tarp from the roof rack to my tent giving me a nice covered area.
