The shifter seems well built. It does have the internal tabs to orient the shifter in position; however, it does not stay on the shift stalk. It is missing a catch at the bottom of the shifter knob that holds it to the shift stalk. Not what I was hoping for… I have a 1997 BMW Z3 2.8l
