    W211 E55 pano sunroof repair

    Mercedes dealer in Atlanta quoted me $7900.00 to fix the pano sunroof on my 05 E55. Don’t drive car much, sits in warehouse. Had the fuse pulled so no one would accidentally try and open it. Aka wife/step daughter. Finally got around to wanting to repair it. Project #587 haha. The YouTube video’s suggesting to shim it. That was not the fix. Metal teeth on gear get worn down or stripped. Replaced worn out gear with this one, re-installed, greased track, installed fuse. Boom Pano Sunroof works like a million bucks. If your w211 sunroof is not working, pops and makes a bunch of racket and won’t open or barely opens gets stuck. Hopefully you could read this. Purchase this gear. Simply remove panel above rear view mirror, pull the gears out of the motor. Replace small gear, loosen entire ...
