This a story of a young woman who travels from Norway to America in the late 1890's to early 1900's to help family in Minnesota as they claim land for farming and a new home. As a older daughter with no prospects of a husband in her hometown in Norway, she hopes not only to help out family but to meet a man to love and marry. This is a series of books By Lauraine Snelling a writer of books of people who travel to America from small towns and villages so they might have homes and lives where before those homes and farms went to the eldest son. I highly recommend these these books as all the stories are good clean language without being preachy and the storyline is always truthful and entertaining.

This is the third book in a series. Lauraine Snelling is an excellent christian storyteller. The storyline and the characters she creates, make me want to keep reading. I am always sad when the series ends, but many of her characters continue on in other titles. They are literary family, close to my heart. Minnesota in the early 1900's flourished with its Norwegian heritage, so if you like historical fiction, this is for you--woven with conflicts, love of God and romance, but most of all love of family.
