I discovered this book back in '98 when we received an advanced copy at the bookstore at which I was working. Afraid that it was going to be another bad "shark eats unwary swimmer" story, I agreed to read the book for a store review and found I could not put it down. I was grabbed from the first page and enjoyed the ride right to the end. Fast paced as well as teaming with just enough scientific fact to make you genuinely wary of going in the water again, I finished the book with that wonderfully rare combination of cerebral satisifaction as well as a desire for more.
copy received is so bad and smells like a sewer

I thought this book was very entertaining. It always keeps you going and makes you not to want to put it down. I would list it as one of the best books I have ever read.
This book was all that i expected it was a really good read, and i have been waiting ages to read it! i hope they do make a film of it cos i reckon it would be top quality. the book was really descriptive and set the scenes really well, the only part i didnt like was all the navy technical terms of the subs and ships, etc. the characters where well written, and i could totally imagine them all. it is a read i would definately recommend, if you like sharks, or anything prehistoric, or if your generally into something a little bit gruesome! nice bit of literature. rckt_grl6
