OK--I'm only about 1/5 through this immense novel (over 900 pages!) and I look forward to the remaining pages as I self-confine during the Covid-19 virus. Good narrative style, pleasant to read and the hard-cover has a format easy on the eyes. My only reservation thus far is the binary nature of the Catholic-Protestant conflict in England. Yes, Catholics on one side, but Protestantism was very diverse from followers of Luther and Calvin--true Reformation figures, to the Church of England which still shared much with Roman Catholicism. In fact, a fair question might be, "Are Anglicans really Protestants?" But that aside, it is thus far a good read, despite what might appear as a tendency toward anti-clericalism.

I have read the previous two books in the Kingsbridge series (and pretty much everything else he has written) and they are ALL fabulous. I haven't had the chance to ready this one yet (although it is downloaded and ready to go on my cell phone so that I can take it with me everywhere) but my Mom already has and she said it is "really good." I'm excited to dig in and start reading.

Follett can handle any topic. His books are exciting without being contrived. He really is the best.

Just started it. It is about a thousand pages. I have read all the Ken Follett books I could get my hands on. I find his books extremely interesting and entertaining. You will learn a lot about history too.
