About this product

Product Information

Unethical practices in education come at too great a cost when our future generation is at stake. Educators are role models for students in their future careers and so must believe in and use ethical practices. In politics, in big and small business, and in legal and medical practice the question of ethical practices surrounds us. Have people become desensitized to ethics? Are we condoning unethical practice? Our educational profession must stand up for honesty and integrity. We, as educators, have the obligation of setting the standards for ethics. Ethical Dilemmas in Education addresses the dilemmas teachers face every day throughout all aspects of education in a comprehensive manner. The book outlines standards of professionalism and presents information teachers can use for the challenges teachers face. With the policies of today's educational system, teachers need to stand up for honesty and integrity, providing role models for students in their future careers. This book guides teachers towards developing ethical habits and a professional demeanor.

Reviews
This book is indispensable because it is a guide for others to use in developing and maintaining professional practices. Each of the chapters is a building block for an individual to become an ethical educator who can make a positive difference in a person's life., Each page I open to grabs me -- the practical, case study-oriented approach stimulates memories of personal experiences. I would love to sit in with a group of teachers who were discussing it., This book is indispensable because it is a guide for others to use… in developing and maintaining professional practices. Each of the chapters is a building block for an individual to become an ethical educator who can make a positive difference in a person's life., [This book] address[es] the ethical issues that have become a reality and constant concern in the life of the modern teacher., Ethical issues are extremely important to teaching today in both special and general education. National education policies like NCLB tend to create many more ethical dilemmas for teachers. This is especially true for teachers who try to serve the needs of children and represent realities to their administrators, parents, and colleagues while living with increasingly irrational, unrealistic demands for their performance and the performance of their students., This book is indispensable because it is a guide for others to use... in developing and maintaining professional practices. I am very pleased with the price of this new book (the lowest I found). I'm happy with the prompt shipping. The only problem was that the box was damaged during shipping. The new book itself sustained very minor cosmetic damage, no doubt from rough handling. The seller offered to send me a return label at no cost, which I do appreciate. However, I was able to repair the slight damage very easily. Thanks again for your concern.
