This is a great Monitor for the price. It's cost less then the average 22" and you get a HUGE 1920x1080 HD screen resolution. There's VGA, DVI, and HDMI connections. I use the HDMI with my laptop. The Speakers aren't a big deal, but if you don't have anything else then they'll do. They are loud enough, but I wouldn't use them for anything important. There's 2 of them for full stereo sound, and if you don't have a HDMI cord there's an audio out (3.5mm) plug in the back. In the box NEW it comes with EVERYTHING, but the HDMI cord. Comes with VGA, DVI, and 3.5mm cords, also a power cord. As far as colors the Blacks are very black and the whites don't hurt the eyes. The colors can be adjusted in many ways and they come out real clear. There's FULL HD (1080p) and it's very very light for a 24". There's 5 buttons Power, 1, up, down, and 2 (that's what symbols I see on the side). You can adjust Contrast, Brightness, Input Select, Audio, Color, and Image. You can recall memory (reset) and there's other features too. It adjust angle up and down, and because it's light it's easy to turn around. The base isn't heavy, but it supports just fine. Only bad thing I can think of is it can't raise up and down, and it's shiny the base and the front frame. Also has a Kensington lock and has compatibility to be wall or specially mounted. If you want 24" this is the best deal out there. If I read right there's a 5 year warranty which you could extended online. In short don't get a Gateway ( I mean that). Great product. This is the second VX2433WM I owned and could not be happier. The picture quality is excellent and very easy to configure. I have been using ViewSonic for many years, they offer great resolution and are very well made monitors all around.
I researched several different monitors of various brand and sizes. It seems they all have some bad reviews. I was using an Acer 19" widescreen which seemed absolutely perfect other than size. When I read the reviews on it I was surprized to learn it was rated very poorly. This ViewSonic is absolutely wonderful. The 24" LCD is huge and the colors and picture clarity are awesome. Despite a few bad reviews I would recommend this monitor and I would buy the same monitor again.
