GREAT camcorder. Features galore. Allows you to manually change focus while filming to get those professional looking shots. OSI duo is GREAT for shaky hands. Battery life is outstanding, even when recording full HD. Great quality for the price. Plus the 30x Zoom is outstanding. Low light quality is good as well. Videos have tearing on computer sometimes though (easily corrected with software). Unfortunately mine came with a manufacturer defect (no fault of the seller). The LCD screen had 1 horizontal line, which turned into 7 over time, which over some more time the entire screen became only white. It comes with a 1 year manufacturing warranty (plus a couple months if you register with Samsung online) so I'll send it off to be repaired/replaced depending on Samsung's policy. Samsung's customer service was good help, so that's a plus.Read full review
Good quality in all aspects and also a good value. Very easy to use. Be aware that this model comes with no memory on board and with no flash card. 720p quality will most likely suffice for most users and 720p requires one half the storage of 1080i, while 480 resolution takes about one fifth of 1080i. Creates MP4 files just like the Flip. The 30x optical zoom is nice, but it is very difficult to control hand shake when fully zoomed out.
*I bought it to use it in my travelling trips. * It is a light camera, small size and a brand name. * I dislike: You can not fix a filter on the lens to protect it. Also you can not use a wide angle lens. *I won't buy the product again. I am looking for a new model.
Compared to our old JVC VHS-C camcorder, the Samsung looks and feels like a toy. This isn't so much a negative as ALL new camcorders look and feel this way. Otherwise, its an excellent value for the money. We really like the HD picture we get having hooked it up directly via HDMI to our big screen Panasonic. Before buying I saw that some other reviewers mentioned the noise of the zoom lens motor coming through but we have not experienced that yet.
Much worse than the HMX H200 indoors. The colors are okay, but the video is grainy, even in daylight, and very dull. At night indoors, it is very very bad. The H200 was usuable even indoors, even at night it was acceptable. Outdoors the sharpness and colors are also worse then in case of the H200. Overally, the most irrintating thing is the sharpness, it is often dull, as if shooting with a mobile phone. I liked the H200 much much better. The only problem in the H200 was the too sensitive microphone, in that sense the H300 is an improvement, but in no other sense.
