Acoustic Research ARRX15G Remote Control Very nice remote that can be found at a very low price. Cons: The way to set up the activities or macros can be hit & miss, and the web based software gave the option for discrete inputs on devices that really didn't have the capability, so it could be better. Pros: It feels like a solid well built remote. I really like the macro capabilities, the on screen favorites, and the backlit buttons. For controlling a bunch of equipment it sure beats having all those remotes laying around and it's big enough that it's less likely to get lost. Conlusion: I'd definately buy another.
I bought this remote because 2 other Logitech harmony remotes broke (signal emmitting LED) and I was looking for a suitable replacement. This is easy to use and the commands are accurate, I don't have to point it directly at any of my equipment. Its size and buttons (for the most part) feel comfortable. I do like the easy of command and macro programming of Logitech remote better than the AR. I do think the AR is capable of so much more than I have taken the time to get out of it. So far the AR has been more reliable than either Logitech I have owned. This is a great BANG for the money!
This is a good remote. Works better than my Harmony 650. Easy to program using RMIR software. I would give it 5 starts except it is a little bulky. Not comfortable to hold. Also the direction pad is a little small.

This remote is great. I discovered that by simply following the instructions it's very easy to set up and that manually programming unlisted keys is very easy, also.It actually seems to work my Samsung plasma better than the oem remote Some reviewers have mentioned the short battery life. I've had this remote running on used batteries for a month now and it's still working fine. One thing I stumbled upon in the instructions was that while the remote is connected to the computer for programming or updating the batteries are being drained and you want to disconnect as soon as your done whatever you're doing. It's also probably a good idea to set the backlighting for as short an on time as possible to conserve the batteries. I purchased this remote over the Harmony because I saw too many reviews about broken display screens after ever minor drops.Read full review
First off I think the remote is the most attractive one Ive ever owned with its color screen, blue backlighting, and overall shape. I read many reviews that claimed the setup was hard but i disagree. In fact i think it was very easy. No need to look up codes, write them down, program them, then after all that the code not work and have to repeat. I just plugged the remote into my computer told it the model number of my components and I was done. I thinks its only downfall is that the buttons are a little hard to press. Overall its a great remote 9.5 out of 10.
