Composter arrived in one box via FEDEX ; opened box and inventoried parts; all were there. Started assembly using a flat blade screwdriver and a 3/8 socket wrench. 56 little bolts for all the plastic panels; assembly went well ; about 45 minutes total time. the illustrated manual was sufficient for the assembly of the composter. Once assembled the composter is a sturdy unit and should provide many years of service. Do yourself a favor and Google "composting" . The manual has some info on composting procedures which are helpful. I would buy another YIMBY composter.

I am underwhelmed by what I got for the money. It does not hold any sign cant amount of material. It does not turn raw materials into compost in two weeks, as advertised. Squirrels can figure out how to get inside very quickly. It is off the ground... one o' the things you must have in a good, rapid acting composting apparatus is EARTH WOTMS. There is no way on God's, (rapidly crumbling), green earth, that worms are going to jump 2 feet in the air to drop down into this worthless, over sold contraption.

I just hated throwing away coffee grounds and the chickens that free range in my yard loved the food scraps I threw over the railing, BUT we had to purchase expensive compost for our garden every year. With this composter, I LOVE saving the veggie scraps and coffee grounds, knowing they aren't being thrown away. I'm sure my chickens would rather see those scraps come sailing over the railing, but alas, they have plenty of other stuff to eat. I'm very happy with this composter, it's well-made and just the right size.

This is great for small gardens. It has been cold where I live so it hasn't gotten hot enough for it to make compost yet. It was easy to put together by myself, despite terrible directions. There are bears where I live, so it is not wise to throw food in the open. I will use it as a supplement to other sources of compost or maybe by a couple more.

I've been looking for a tumbler type composter for a few years. I have compost bin but am unable to stir it properly. I did a lot of research before settling on this one. I choose this one mainly because of the size, the price and the great reviews. We occasionally have bears visits. I didn't want to spend too much on a composter because I was concerned that it might attract the bears. I figured the bears would destroy it and that would be money down the drain. None of the reviews that I read mentioned bears… This was easy to assemble and not too large or too heavy for me (55 year old woman with back problems) to move by myself. It's a very sturdy composter and does a good job of stirring the compost when you spin the barrel. I’ve been pleasantly surprised to discover how much kitchen waste we were just throwing in the trash. I have had one visit by a bear so far and the composter made it through with flying colors! I found the composter on its side about 20 feet from where I had positioned it. The sliding door had been removed but nothing was broken. The door just slid back on and nothing was broken. This composter is a great buy! Read full review
