My wife and I would search the TV listings every week for showings of Miss Marple, Hercule Poirot, or anything else by Agatha Christie. When they were no longer shown on a regular basis, we started purchasing the DVDs. Agatha Christie stories are always filled with suspects, unusual characters and hints and red-herrings, making them delightful for the armchair detective. In this collection, you get so many shows, that by the time you finish watching them, seeded with a few other great mysteries, you will be ready to start over. Miss Marple is a spinster in her declining years, with a history of love and loss. She has a quick mind and always enjoys pitting her research abilities and common sense against those with evil secrets and illegal acts. She always catches her criminal in the end but leaves you guessing and trying to keep up until all is revealed. Hercule is not French, but Belgium, as he doesn't miss telling people at every chance. He is always immaculate in his appearance, lives meagerly, but maintains his home as though he had a dozen maids. He is extremely vain, especially about his up-swept mustache, and loves certain chocolates. Beyond that, he is fairly certain that he is the most intelligent of men and loves to prove it by trapping the lawless and solving crimes. As in her Miss Marple Mysteries, Agatha Christie employs a number of unique characters and clues. Beware though, many of the clues lead to nowhere but strengthen the enjoyment. All who wish to be absorbed by intrigue should start with this excellent set of some of Agatha Christie's best mysteries.Read full review

I was already a big Hercule Poirot fan since the 1960s. I was unaware that there were Miss Marple DVDs in this set. Now I am also a Miss Marple fan. I am going to buy any of those DVD's on ebay. They were great!!!
