Price was well below list (the Guitar Center near my house had it for $100). Mic was used, but looks and performs like new. No compatibility or quality problems whatsoever; the mic has sounded great, especially for recording voice and hand percussion. Still good quality for recording amplified guitar, bass, and drums, assuming you use the second switch setting. Very positive experience with this seller. I would buy it again.
I tried recording myself on the piano with my laptop's built in microphone - of course it sounded like it was coming through a tin can. But with this microphone, I set the stand inside our grand piano, plugged it into the laptop, and voila, the recording sounds absolutely live. I compared it to a Liz Story CD, and the sound quality was about equal. Now if I can only learn the intricacies of GarageBand, I'll be able to fix my mistakes too...
Over a year and it still delights not only every time that I look at it, (Strong cool factor) but it also works great. I have never tried it on a PC but know that it works in both Leopard and Snow Leopard flawlessly. I really don't think that I can give a high enough rating for this devise. Excellent Plus a couple points. Simple, prices good, useful and great looking on the desk. If you are thinking of purchasing one, rest assured you will be glad that you did.
Being a mac user, i use logic and garageband. This mic comes with three different cound settings which was really interesting and allows for on-the-fly tone alterations. Great stand included (bigger than i thoguht) but very stable and obviously very high quality. Im very pleased with this item so far. No hissing, harsh s's or other heavy consonant issues. Great looks, portability and sound!
