I installed this by myself in about 2-1/2 hours. The instructions are very clear. The design is very forgiving in terms of not having to be perfectly square or an exact distance apart. When I assembled it the platform was perfectly level right off the start so I didn’t have to make any adjustments. For the most part the assembly and installation went without a hitch. I have 2 gripes: 1 - the hardware is cheap. I snapped the heads off 2 lag bolts before they were even seated. 2 - the drill attachment arm is way too short. I have to stand on a ladder to get to it.

This "lift" is fairly well engineered and the assembly and installation are pretty straight forward. I used much better "lag screws" to secure it to the ceiling and there is no worry about it ever falling. The lag bolts supplied with the kit are about worthless. It holds an 8' long Leer camper shell which is 250 lbs and right at the maximum for this device. cons : A: the 4 pulleys are plastic and should be steel B: the crank handle is a bit cheesy and flexes way too much to operate smoothly C:the metal eyelet that the crank handle attaches to is made of very soft pot metal and scars, flakes and deforms way too easily. If you used this frequently that eyelet will be the first thing to break So the quality is OK, not great by any means but at least it qualifies for the lower end of "good"Read full review

I now have 3 Racor storage racks. in my garage. One in each bay. After installing the 1st one I bought a 2nd one the next year. As my needs increased, I purchased the 3rd one this year. I use them for my hobby in the summer and seasonal storage during the winter. I use my drill to raise and lower the rack which eliminates the need to climb a ladder with heavy items. Installation generally takes 2 people about 2 hours, and 2 ladders but easy to install. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. The load limit is 250 lbs which is adequate for my needs.

Picked this up for loading/un-loading my roof top tent (170lbs). I picked up two 6’ straps to make it quick and easy. Love this thing. Takes the frustration out of getting camping ready and stores the tent up out of the way till we wanna go exploring

The Racor storage system is well built and works perfectly. It's not difficult to assemble and easy to hang. I couldn't be happier. Love it.
