I like this item as much as one can like a smoke alarm. Wanted a photoelectric type for the house to mix with my three other ionization units. Recommend.

Product works as advertised. My understanding is that CO is heavier than oxygen, so what is value of placing this item on a ten foot ceiling? Meets code requirements, but very expensive!!

Its a good retrofit to my existing sensors, and OK priced. No issues so far, tests fine. I didn't realize these things expire until about 17 years after we built.. but the old ones did work fine as far as I could tell, even at 17 years... glad the unit allows for battery replacement, as some newer ones are EOL when the battery dies.

Our old smoke detectors had become super sensitive and were going off all the time. That is guaranteed to make you crazy! We replaced all of them. Easy to do. Now it is peaceful again at our house.

I bought this alarm to replace an ion alarm that was having too many nuisance triggers from minor kitchen smoke. This photoelectric alarm has solved the problem. Nice form factor, hard wired with battery back up, easy to mount and wire, and has a silence button.
