The ST-100 cut 1/4 acre of grass that was between knee-height and hip-height easily and without stalling the trimmer. Grass was also somewhat damp at the base, not a problem. A small portion of my yard gets spongy from excessive rain at times, and the trimmer was light enough to cut this portion without sinking. A tank of gas lasted about an hour with this height of grass. Sturdy, well-made and easy to assemble. Just fold handle over, attach 2 wing-nut bolts, add oil (included) and gas, and you’re set. Extra trim strings are included also, and easy to replace with no tools. Started with 2 pulls upon initial startup. Very happy with it. Wish it had a self-propelling option though, but easy to push and maneuver regardless.

The Cub Cadet string trimmer was easy to put together and came with additional lengths of trimmer line. The trimmer line is square and about 5 times as durable as other .155 inch lines that are for sale. Get more even though it lasts a long time. The design on the disc holding the strings is better designed than the Sears and Husqvarna since the hooks that hold the line in place are placed on the top of the disc. This means that the line holders and the line is not spun into random rocks and debris when working over uneven ground. Important tip: Try to go along the contour of hills if possible. If you go directly up or down steep hills for more than a few seconds, you will starve the piston of oil causing damage to the cylinder and rings. This leads to billowing smoke when starting and eventually, a dead engine. This is common to all consumer level trimmers so take care of it and it will last for years. Light, easy to push, starts easily, destroys brush up to 3/4 inch saplings. Love mine and will replace with another Cub Cadet if mine ever needs replacing.Read full review

Great tool to have, the bolt holding the wheel on, the thread was mangle. I chase the thread and it been good ever since. This trimmer live on a farm, it seen all kind of nasty weeds and tall grass. Chew throught everything. I still give it 5 stars because beside the small inconvenient, im over all very happy with the purchase. It also arrive on time. Great seller.

This product is just what I needed for weeding. It starts easy and it’s a push walk behind. It’s easy on my back and arms as I don’t have to hold the weight of the traditional weed-eater that affected my arms and back. Great investment for my physical well-being.
