my friend has had one for about a year and is still dedicated to using it, so I bought one. I did rate a good value but it is a little expensive but the gun is effective.

Needing to be about a foot away or less from your desired target to be effective makes this practically useless. I’ve shot from 2-3 feet away at a few flys with absolutely no affect on target. The shot pattern is not large enough to hit a moving target which if you’ve ever noticed, that’s why flying insects do, they move. The quality is however great and should last a long time. I’d rate this more of a gimmick toy rather than a legit tool. I’ll stick to my electric fly swatter.

I decided to spend the money on this, even tho I thought it was a little high. But once I got it, and modified the safety on the trigger (it was a pain having the safety reset after every shot! Ruins your Rambo moment, you know? So check on YouTube for disabling safety) it became a blast! THIS IS JUST SO SATISFYINGLY FUN AND LEGAL TOO! I highly recommend checking out a youtube video on how to disable the safety on this sucker. You'll undetstand why if you get one. But once you disable that pain in the you-know-what it's like releasing your inner Rambo on them damn bugs! Then you can rapid fire one after another and get your agression therapy going and really make that Rambo statement! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!! IT IS WHAT YOU THINK IT IS AND MORE! TELL THOSE BUGS THERE'S A NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN, AND THAT YOU MEAN BUSINESS! It's well worth it for the therapy aspect of getting your inner Rambo satisfied and under control. Get rid of those nasty thoughts while you get rid of those nasty bugs!Read full review

For just a dab of table salt you can feel like you're ready for the big hunt! Oh my! We had so much fun taking turns shooting at those pesky little disease carrying flies, and mosquitos! Of course, I had to get a laser for mine to look very authentic! I love it so much my father-in-law is getting a camo one for Christmas, my dad is getting one for his birthday, my nephew is getting one for everything he does for me... You get the picture right?! Fun! Fun!

Right out of the box, even though it's a plastic gun I can tell this is built better than a kids toy. Thicker & noticeably heavier than a super-soaker. Hand grips are sized & shaped for an adult. Plastic is a bit slippery, so I'm thinking about sanding the grips for a better feel. Magazine is very easy to load and the lid shows no sign of accidentally opening. The foregrip needs to be slid all the way back to arm the gun, first few times I didn't slide it back firmly enough and it failed to fire. It seems to be designed for a very aggressive rapid-fire style, but the safety kicks on automatically everytime the slide is moved back. So I'm thinking about tearing this apart and seeing if that can be changed. The safety is a little bit less than perfect, it's too streamlined and doesn't give enough pad area to rest my thumb against when pushing it forward to release the trigger. So the outer corner of the safety lever feels like it's digging into my thumb way too much. Yet another reason to remove that. Trigger pull is a bit stiff, but not so bad I can't hold the gun like a pistol. The sights seem to be dead on at any distance from 8 inches to 3 feet. Shooting beyond 3 feet looks like the shot spreads too much and loses power. But all the flies I have here seem to be content to allow me to close on them until I am well in hunting range. Rear sight pops up when the gun is armed, then retracts on firing, so that's a nifty visual indication to show if the gun is armed or not. Rumor has it that poppy seeds are good for the bigger wildlife such as yellow jackets. So far I'm still using salt. Seems like I can fire about 50 rounds at least before needing to reload. All in all, many times superior to a old-fashioned flyswatter! You don't need to wait for the fly to land on a flat surface, you can fire through a tight space where any swinging action might knock things over. And when is the last time you ever sat there holding a flyswatter & wished there were more flies inside the house? Never, that's when! But with this salt gun, you might just change your mind...Read full review
