This is a great performing antenna for its size! I have it installed in my attic. Compared to a 2m SlimJim that I also have installed in the attic, UHF performance is better with the diamond, the SlimJim has a slight edge on 2 meters.

Compact, very high wind endurance. Nice gain on both bands, low SWR for good, reliable communications. Mine is mounted about 4ft (antenna connection point) above the roof of an eight story condo building’s central stair tower. Stair tower exits onto roof level, so roof of tower is effectively at ninth floor elevation. Getting 50 watts to antenna connector gets me out 55 miles south to a 2m FM repeater, here at my Central Florida area. Antenna specs impressed condo HOA enough to realize we could get reliable emergency communications ‘in hand’ for our over 55 community; they supported the installation and the critical post hurricane capabilities it brings.

I've used several different antennas in an effort to be able to communicate clearly and powerfully with other Ham Radio operators. This is the first time I've been able to hear and be heard with clarity. Hallelujah!
