First and foremost, I've rediscovered Steve Perry's music after many years of listening to mainstream. I grew up listening to Journey during their peak and needed something to really get into again. Though not all songs on this CD are 'hits' by any means, each and every one captures Steve Perry's amazing voice in a different way. The man always sang with such heart and passion. (And with such a set of lungs!) This CD is one of my personal favorites and I listen to it most every day.
Steve Perry is one of the best singers in the rock genre I know of. The CD is great value for money with 5 unreleased tracks. I enjoy all the tracks and have been playing the CD every day since I bought it (approx. 3/4 weeks ago). I decided to buy the CD because I only had an old cassette "Street Talk" of Steve Perry's.
This Steve Perry Greatest Hits cd is phenomenal for many reasons. Music of his I had not heard before; the different vocal styles he performed, and the priceless demo that got him into Journey.
