When I heard their song Rock N Roll Dream on my fav rock station I was impressed with the "new" group and looked forward to the release of their cd. When I got it and listened to it, I was no less impressed but even moreso! Their music was rock-driven, with creative rifts and bridges that made you move and lyrics that made you listen. The lead singer could stand head-to-head with many current multi-plantinum selling artists. Likewise could the other members. And ... they will only get better because, as hard as it is to believe when you hear them, they are only 14 years old! I read that they've been professionally rockin since they were 11 so look out! They have rocked stadiums in the U.S. and Europe, touring with Kiss--a classic, well-respected band. Their music has appeared on Guitar Hero and more of their music will be on the 2009 version. I think if they aggressively promote for air-time, interviews and appearances, they'll be right up there with multi-platinum rockers that are popular today! They've got the talent, the looks, obviously the drive and ambition, and youth is on their side! You will not be disappointed in this cd. I highly recommend it!Read full review
First off, the platitudes and disclaimers. Yes, these boys are young but yes, they are incredibly talented; a 'young Metallica' go the comparisons. This is hard rock, not thrashy yet not plodding; mostly midtempo stuff with big guitars. But not only is the music surprisingly skilled, especially for teenagers, but it's amazing what they can do. You would never picture the lead singer singing these songs (mix of Hetfield, Guardian's Jamie Rowe, & the 2nd vocalist from Holy Soldier). Looking at the drummer, you would never think he could create so admirably. The guitarists certainly know how to shred their frets, their scales as per Chevelle. This is good stuff, regardless of their age. As for parents of like-minded teenagers, though these guys aparently come from Christian homes and their lyrics are clean, there is very little references to their faith, if at all. It will be interesting to see how this band evolves but in the meantime, feel free to climb aboard their journey into stardom. I was surprised by the ending of Gone and Rock Dream is probably the only radio-friendly tune but for metalheads, there's lots to like here. CX growl enough to be cool for the kids but sing enough to appeal to the Classic Rockers.Read full review
