I just listen to both discs today. It should be known that I love Bruce Cockburn. This is naked Bruce on stage and it is wonderful! The raps, guitar and vocals are all excellent. I truly think Bruce's voice has actually gotten better over the years! I have seen Bruce in 1989 with his trio on The Biog Circumstance tour. Great tour but this is better largely due to the intimacy of the recording. Pacing The Cage, Mama Just Wants To Barrelhouse All Night Long, Tibetan Side of Town... it is ALL good! Excellent spin(s)!
This is an easy review as Bruce Cockburn is one of my favorite artists. The recording was made live at several shows in the Northeast. One of which was Ithaca, New York. The crowd was strange (old hippie types) but the show was great. Bruce seemed to weave in and out of songs with purpose and passion. This recording is a perfect documentation of these concerts. A must for any Cockburn fan. Fred
For four decades Bruce Cockburn has been one of Canada's best musical exports. His many genre excursions, topical subject matter and excellent guitar skills make this latest live recording a MUST BUY CD. Here is solo. live format is Cockburn at his essence, and we are privileged to share this magnificent performance and compilation.
