This is easily one of my top ten favorite albums of all time - and that's saying a lot, coming from someone who has as broad a music appreciation as I do. If you like Ambrosia for the mellow pop music success that they've had, then this album may not be for you. However, if you feel adventurous, this could grow on you as it has on me over the years. It is a mix of styles, so diverse, that it would almost pass for a party mix tape of different groups. "Lover Arrive" is such a heartfelt and soulful song that it almost seems too personal to publish - something you'd want to keep as only your own. "Momma Frog", "Time Waits for No One", "World Leave Me Alone", taken together, reflect the variety of the entire album - within just the three songs there are surprise nuggets that include a wild and wonderful sort of free-style jazz, Irish jig, a Mexican fiesta in full swing, and even a very impressive reading of Jabberwocky. If this sounds too outlandish, don't let it throw you. All of it is sewn together so masterfully, that you'll move from one into the other without even realizing there has been a change. From "Nice, Nice, Very Nice" (lyrics a la Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.) all the way to the fantastic ballad, "Drink of Water", there is nothing in between that I would skip over. It's an album to be taken in it's entirety as a masterpiece, even though it was released before Ambrosia's major successes in the music market. They even give you "Holdin' on to Yesterday", which is a preview of their future and rightfully served as their ticket to future success. I'm glad that we get to see what truly fantastic musicians these people were, on this album, before they throttled back in order to please the masses and make their permanent home in music.Read full review

Are you sick of all that industrial Sh*t ??? Well, this is your lucky Day :-) This Album is full of beautyful Prog Rock Ballads produced in excellent Sound Quality by Alan Parson ( yes the Alan Parsons, from the Alan Parsons Project, the one what engineered P. Floyds " The Dark Side ..... " ). This Album has this rare Godly Sparkle, what I' miss so much these Days ! If you like it ......, buy the second Album of Ambrosia " Somewhere I've never Travelled " Have a good Trip ;-)
I was happy to get this cd version of the first album. Although not a remaster it is a decent transfer and has a little better dynamic range than the album.
