I'd heard that Richard Lloyd wasn't quite as present during the sessions for this album as he was for Television's first LP, Marquee Moon. It's true. This album does sound more like the Tom Verlaine Show. But it's still more of a group effort than Tom alone. The Television is still turned "on". It's just not tuned to the most interesting channel. Still, a case of " Don't touch that dial". It's an album that is worth spending time with.
