Great album and back to the good old days with Aerosmith. Got sick of the newer stuff that they did, but Pump went back to their roots and was just good old fashion rock and roll. Brings back good memories too. "What it takes" is my personal favorite from this album even among the other more often played tunes. Recommend to anyone.
I was really glad to get this album on CD.It really is the last great Aerosmith album. What makes it so great is the socially conscious songwriting on "Janie's Got a Gun"(about child abuse and incest)and the musical experimentation(the band used some exotic instruments to create this album).Overall, even though the lyrics are typically raunchy at times("Young Lust";"Love In An Elevator"),Aerosmith really did sound like they were having fun making this album and not simply fulfilling contractual obligations.
This album totally rocks! Love the whole band and have since I was 14. Steven Tyler has been my dream guy for years, and he can WAIL! I never get tired of listening to this one. It has a permanent place in my CD changer in my vehicle...slot number 1.
CD did not arrive on time but it plays fine.
