A different sound for some older songs. Lee's voice is far different from some of the original singers, and the guitar and percussion have that distinctive older Rush sound. The only shortcoming is that it isn't longer, as there are only 8 tracks on the CD.

Canada's power trio wormholes back in time to rekindle some solid 60's standards. Being a Rush fan for 3 decades plus I would have bought this sight unseen anyway and was happy I did after first listen. I got it for a good price and the timing was right. "Summertime Blues"(track 1) is one of my favorite all time songs and Rush comes out swinging and nails it. This would be a good album for a person to discover the versatility that this band is famous for. Rock Onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. mrmajestic12
Great to hear the boys having fun doing covers! It seems like there must be some unwritten rule somewhere that every band that forms must do a 'cover of crossroads'! He- he! They did a great job on covering these songs but its also very clear you are listening to 'RUSH'. Their own style always blasts through and they make the music their own. Geddys voice always amazing, Alex's guitar speaks so passionatly, and the ever present beating heart of Neils drums. I feel like I've had a little glimplse into what type of music has influenced them. I'm looking forword to many more years of music from this amazing group of artists who are also each others close freinds. I think its the friendship that keeps the music so tight just like they are. Rock on!!
Rush was a legendary band, and although this was just a cover album, it is still fantastic (way better than Hold Your Fire or most of their albums from the 90s). I would definitely reccommend to any Rush fan. It's an EP, so don't expect too many songs or perfect production quality.

On this CD, Rush covers mid 60's tunes which have influenced them, many of which they covered with their eariler bands (Mumblin' Sumpthin', The Projection, The Dusty Coconuts, Waterlogged Gorilla Fingers, the Wild Woodpecker Review, and the Aquiline Dimention). Excellent Hard Rock covers of 1966 and 1967 classic rock tunes. Summertime Blues, Heart Full of Soul, The Seeker, For What It's Worth, Shapes of Things, Mr. Soul, Crossroads, Seven And Seven Is. Great Job by One of the Best Bands Ever! Thanks, guys!
