I've discovered this album in the early 80's when I still was at school. I did not listen to it during years since I did not buy the CD and di not listen to old LPs anymore. Therefore, it was a real pleasure to hear it again after buying this second hand CD on eBay. This is probably the best record of South Rock ever done. Lynyrd Skynyrd was obviously a great band, they produce top hits songs like Sweet Home Alabama, Free Bird,... But the power of the band on stage is incredible and if you can share it when listening to this record. Un monument du rock sudiste, l'énergie du plus grand groupe de rock sudiste captée sur scène. Love this CD-I had the cassette tape of this, but since that was well over 20 years old, I decided to splurge on the CD. I love the song "I Know A Little", and you don't find that on too many Skynyrd albums, so this is great! It is just a great selection of songs!
Hello I received the CD today I was expecting 2 cd's per the descriptoon. Since this is the LS golden platinum the case indicates 2 Cd's but I go to open it up and is only one cd..

Gold and Platinum is a great cross-section of a timeless band - Lynyrd Skynyrd. If you are unfamiliar with Lynyrd Skynyrd this will help. If you are familiar with them you are sure to enjoy. I especially appreciated the more less known favorites such as: "Simple Man", "On the Hunt" and "Comin' Home." The essentials are on this collection as well: "Saturday Night Special", "That Smell" and "Gimme Back My Bullets." The version of "FREE BIRD" is a live version. It does illustrate the band's incredible ability to work together. I was grateful to find this on Ebay.
