My favorite George Thorogood CD. Of course there is the well known title track, but my favorites are "Blue Highway" and "As The Years Go Passing By". I first became familiar with the latter tune from a great version by Gary Moore, and later heard Albert King do it as well. It's a classic slow blues, a style that is quite a departure from what we usually get from Thorogood. And George aquits himself very nicely on it, although for this style he is not in the same league as Gary Moore. (Nor is Moore in the same league as George for rockin' slide playing like on "One Bourbon...") "Miss Luann" and "Wanted Man" are also very strong. On the whole, this just barely nudges out Thorogood's debut as the best of his long career.
Even 20 years later, this is still one of my all-time favorite cd's. Everyone in the world knows the song 'bad to the bone', but few people have really listened to the hidden gems on this album like 'No particular place to go', 'wanted man' and 'as the years go passing by'. Begining to end, this is a must-have blues/rock album by a true master.
Great cd ,great music..makes ya feel good in today's fast pace world..and you can understand the words..that a plus today..
