Well, there is 1 actual surf song. If I didn't know this was a sound track from a surf movie, I wouldn't have considered this cd as surf music. Don't get me wrong, there are some good guitar licks here, but except for one jam with Dick Dale, its not surf music. This cd is not what I expected, not having seen the movie.

I saw the movie on TV, and while watching I couldn't help listening too, and likeing the music. In watching the credits I noticed the musicians name "Gary Hoey", and remembered He did a remake of a song "Hocus Pocus by Focus" and I like it as well. This motavated me into the purchase. I then realized one of the songs included Dick Dale one of the original surf guitarists, known for Mizerlou (most recently heard in the movie Pulp Fiction). Now being from the 60,s, and enjoying music, as well being a musician myself. Well how could I refuse.
Great music! From the wonderful film comes this music which takes me traveling to ride wild surf in the greatest places in the world! And I haven't been on a board... but then, this music says it all, takes your dreams to places where music is like the ocean, changing, awesome, and never the same repetition! If you like "arm-chair surfing", defintely buy this film AND the soundtrack!
I am new to Gary Hoey, and after listen to this I bought his latest Utopia. Truel and awesome guitar player. This CD puts a unique take on the original Endless Summer. I am a average guitar player, I know good music when I hear it.
This CD is a hard rock classic. It jamms. The first song kicks it off and doesn't let up. A true stereo treat.
