Not my type of music. Adams is obviously talented, however I didn't care for this music at all. The price was reasonable, however if someone wants it, I will give it away!

For being Ryan Adams First solo effort it's quite a strong record. Half the album is quite memorable, while the other half shows how much potential Ryan has. It's quite tough to review this album after it's been out for 15 years, though it doesn't seem out of place at all. The music transcends time and still sounds eloquent and distant, which Mr. Adams can make you feel after just a couple of listens.
This is the album that shows up on the "best of the decade" list. He is a singer songwriter that let's it all pour out. My wife doesn't dig the consistent nyc references in his music, but that's where his head is. He isn't trying to look cool, it's just where he does some writing. Buy this one and "Gold" if you are starting a collection.
This cd makes me feel like I am part of the songs like I was made to sing them not just sing along. I heard this artist while riding with a friend of mine and know come pick me up is all I can think about.
I've always like ryan adams and this album is perfect. I love every single song. I highly recommend him to anyone who likes a more folksy earthy return to rock.
