The Dewalt XPR is a man's drill. I have a Sears 15 Volt drill that doesn't have any punch or drive. The Dewalt has proven to be a excellant drill for all the home projects that I have used it on so far. It has alot of power and can really shoot the screws into wood. I also had to put some screws into a metal ramp, and was impressed with the torque of the drill. The built-in LED light that is just above the trigger has come in very handy in those places that doesn't always get light. The Dewalt has numerous speeds and setting for a wide variety of projects. I bought the Dewalt XRP because alot of my friends have one and they love it. I have been impressed so far and plan on a long and productive relationship. I haven't found anything that I dislike about the drill.
This is my second Dewalt 940 drill. I worked my first one pretty hard for a couple years. The worst was probably that used it with a square drive adapter and 1-1/8" socket to jump start my 6500 watt 10 horse generator because the recoil broke. It will turn it over in all three gears. Like I said, I was pretty hard on the first one. The chuck eventually froze and though the drill still works, I can't get the chuck to break loose. Has a large torque capacity. Good control. Great LED light. I bought the same drill a second time and will take better care of this one!!!
This is a great drill. This is my second one, burnt up the first one, after years of abuse. I use it almost daily, even when I should grab a corded 1/2" drill to drill a 5/8" hole or turn 2 1/2" hole saw. Batteries last quite awhile and recharge in a hour.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: New
Bought this used to replace a cheaper brand and needed something more reliable. The batteries did not hold charge as long as I hoped but that may because it was used. The tool itself has a good amount of power. It is a little on the heavy side when it comes to weight but is comperable to the other in it's class.
I love this drill and screw drill. This item is BUILT to last a long time. Most item you buy today is THRO A WAY. I had many other cordless drill and the battery or the drill did not last. In today world you must get some life out of your item which is hard to do. Well pleased with DeWalt so far. Terry
