This is an awesome value for a sub $350 crossbow. I bought two of these for my adult sons and we have shot 100+ bolts through them so far. The bow is a little on the heavy side, which is expected for a bow in this price range. I have seen the published weight anywhere from 6-8 lbs for the setup that has the red/green dot scope, quiver and 3 arrows included. I added a shoulder strap and the total weight is 9 lbs. The scope comes with 3 vertical dots for sighting different ranges. We sighted 30, 40, and 50 yds. The red/green dot sight is a really awesome sight. It allows you to easily sight on a moving target due to a wide field of view. It is also very easy to sight on a target with both eyes open, unlike closing one eye to sight a reticle scope. However, the one advantage a reticle scope has, you don't have to turn it on to use it. If you jump a deer using the red/green dot scope, you have to turn he scope on, then take the bow off safety. You could carry the bow without the safety on to eliminate a step, but I prefer safety on. I have a multi-reticle scope and it has 5 different sighting lines, but I think I like the red/green dot better. The only other negative I can think of is the bow is pretty loud, which could be an issue if taking a shot longer than 30-40 yds.Read full review

Shot bow 10 times or less had cables fray on me they blamed it on me not putting cable guard on which was installed but they would sell me the cables for it but wouldn't refund because it has been shot says it's 180 lbs but actually 150 lbs could buy 150 lbs cheaper than what this one is

Never had or shot any kind of a bow before. Have only shot this crossbow 20 or so times to sight in, but surprisingly repeatable and accurate, I can group 3 arrows at 30 yards easily within a 1 1/2 " circle from a bench rest - I am sure accomplished archers can do much better, but for a 1st timer I was amazed. Sighted in first with field point target arrows to get it right on, then with a broadhead target tip. The broadhead tip was heavier than the field point and shot about 4" lower - make sure you sight in with the actual tip you are going to hunt with, don't rely just on the field points for sighting in. First 4 times I tried cocking the bow by hand. My finger tips went numb after the 4th time. Got a cocking rope right away (does not come with one), and extra wax. I also bought an aftermarket case and 5 extra bolts - glad I did. One very nice feature is the trigger. The safety is automatically on when you cock the bow. Trigger pull is very smooth. As the on-line ratings say, the bow is noisy to shoot, but a minor issue to me. It's also heavier than I thought - about the same weight as my hunting rifle. In summary, very happy with the quality and well thought out features of this crossbow - my recommendation is a strong buy.Read full review

This is my first crossbow. It is a pain to cock which I guess is to expected of a crossbow. It was very accurate the first time I tried it out with the red dot scope. It was pretty easy to assemble, basically just bolt the bow to the stock. It's a little heavier then I thought it would be. Since I have purchased I have checked into "In-line draw lock" for my compound bow and wonder if it might have been a better option. I have a bad shoulder and some back problems, and I have trouble cocking it even with the cable accessory that you can buy with it. I have rigged up a device where instead of holding it down with my foot and pulling up, connecting the cocking cable to my rack has the stirrup about 18 inches off the ground and I use my weight pushing down with my foot to cock it, instead of pulling up with my back. All in all, a nice crossbow and fun to shoot.Read full review

This crossbow is very good for someone who is wanting to get into using a crossbow as a hobby whether it is for fun at the range or going hunting. This model is very well balanced, light and powerful. What I like is that it comes as a complete kit: instructions, crossbow stock, riser, scope, detachable quiver, 3 crossbow bolts and lube wax. The best part is that it is not an expensive crossbow. It is very affordable and practical. The only recommendations I would suggest is to purchase a rope cocking device from a safety perspective. It is better for the crossbow because the pull force of the string is being evenly distributed and it is also safer for your fingers. I would also recommend purchasing more lube wax as well because if you intend to use it frequently, you will need to relube the strings and track per the instruction manual every 5 shots. A crossbow bag would be another good add on item as it is important to keep the crossbow free of dust and debris when storing along with a sling for out in the field. The only issues I had with this crossbow is the bolt for the detachable quiver was too short and thus the quiver was loose. I simply went to the local hardware store and purchased a longer bolt in the same size and that seemed to fix the issue. Barnett has excellent customer service. They have answered any and all my questions along with having all the above accessories. I have enjoyed this crossbow very much because it is extremely accurate, looks great and easy to handle. The stock fits comfortably, the sight was easy to get aligned and the finger guards provide great protection along with the fire safety. I would highly recommend it for a beginner who does not want or need to spend a lot of money on a crossbow, but wants a great product.Read full review
