Ideal for making a small shunter/switcher loco using either sheeting for body or using Atlas shell n cab assemblies and plastic sheeting for areas cut to widen shell assembly to close shell. Also if you want to make a small switcher purchasing Kato Part 11- 404 will make for a interesting loco. I used two SD60/90 Atlas cab assemblies glued together n cut to suit the width, adding a Kato 11-404 on roof and some plastic sheeting on side to suit.

Used this chassis for a HOn mine battery locomotive. Very adaptable unit. May replace the couplers eventually but it runs well and looks good with the driver. Will add weathering too.

I am using an old MRC power pack and at the lowest setting the little Kato drive sped at a tremendous rate. I suspect I'll need a newer power supply to run this unit.

Smooth operation at all speeds but noisier than it's Rakuten z scale counterpart.
