This machine is pretty light, all things considered, and it's got some serious grunt to it, as well! Once I burned through the factory line and put some more aggressive stuff on, it cuts through all the stragglers around the fence with ease. It doesn't do so well, even on high-speed mode, with woodier weeds, since it's using .085" (or something) line. On an awesome note, I can trim my 1/3 acre yard AND blow all the clippings into the yard with the 36v blower on a single pair of 5ah batteries!

Battery technology has finally gotten to the point where most homeowners can switch their string trimmer from gas to electric. It is well built, high power, and battery lasts 3 Saturdays for me (1/4 acre general lawn trimming). Bonus angle grinder works great as well and I love that all my Makita tools use the same battery type.

Was getting achy shoulder and back from my 52cc power trimmer so decided to try cordless. Have been very pleased with this trimmer- plenty of power for all the soft and small woody stuff, quiet and light and off when you’re not cutting. Cuts through the bittersweet vine that’s taking over. Batteries last a little longer than a tank of gas in my other trimmer- and no mixing/spilling, spark plugs, chokes or pulling. Yay! I’ve only had it a few weeks but am very happy with it so far.

The unit is well balanced and easy to use. I ran it for about 30 minutes and it hardly used any battery life (4 bars).

Good balance, heavy duty line, cuts as anticipated, I ran the machine constant for about an hour and there was still battery power. The dual battery recharge is quick.
