A single bevel knife like this will travel to the left when slicing thicker foods with a fair amount of resistance such as a sizable yam or sweet potato. It is great with leafy vegetables, and this particular knife is relatively heavy. It also works very well for fish for sushimi. The left tracking tendency is extremely difficult to correct, however, and this knife is generally considered to be one for a more skilled cook. Hard for a non-professional to get used to. Hence the four stars. Quality wise, it is 5 stars, but the same series of blond handled Wasabi knives contains a 'chef' knife that has a thinner blade ground equally on both sides; ie., Western bevel. Much more friendly for most users.
