I loved this book, it was an easy flowing read. 5 stars! a must read for the powerseller struggling with eBay fee hikes, rebalancing and general poor leadership. The author, Greg Holden is well established in the selling community and has a great grasp of how sellers can move to the next level or as the book puts it, beyond eBay. Some great background and reasons why sellers would like to move beyond eBay is include and that helps to understand why? Greg gives us some great insight into the Amazon marketplace, BTW I bought this book on x, now I am able to understand why I did. Greg is no stranger to eBay, having written seven books on the subject, but he notes that in terms of growth, eBay is not the shooting star that it once was. Sellers are complaining about the increased competition, fee increases, and the overreaching power that eBay holds over its members. A successful online business shouldn't have to depend on a single service provider such as eBay for its success, particularly when small infractions of eBay's complex rules can shut your business down in a flash. From the book: New ways to make big money in online sales! EBay is still the world's most popular auction site, but it's not the only one. The savviest PowerSellers are finding new places to sell online. Selling Beyond eBay offers powerful strategies for targeting not just more buyers, but the right buyers. By taking advantage of specialty sites, other auction sites, and online storefronts, sellers can dramatically increase their profits. This book gives them: * descriptions and reviews of hot auction sites and marketplaces* profiles of successful sellers using these sites in addition to (or instead of) eBay * step-by-step instructions for creating and managing online storefronts * options for combining online storefront sales with eBay auction sales * details on how to expand sourcing options in order to sell more merchandise There's more than one way to sell online. It's time to start Selling Beyond eBay! About the Author GREG HOLDEN (Chicago, IL) is the author of seven books about eBay and online auctions including Internet Auctions for Dummies, Cliff's Notes Guide to Buying and Selling on eBay, How to Do Everything With Your eBay Business, and PowerUser's Bible. This book is so-so. It could be condensed to a 25 page pamphlet. The core information is really good, and the author does a good job of sharing his experience and wisdom. But, it's full of "you can do it" nonsense, and lots of other filler. Overall, it's worth reading for inexperienced ebayers. I just wish they had a condensed version. By the way, avoid "ebay for fundrasing" or whatever it's called. It's mostly a rehash of this book with about 75% overlap. I bought this book from express-books for $1.15, in case you're interested.
Well written book about selling on other online Market places other than ebay. Gives the pros and cons of each site. Written for those already experienced on eBay and wishes to start selling elsewhere. Written at the Post High School level. Easy to understand. Well laid out and easy to follow along. Deals only with selling at other sites. Not written for newbies to online selling.
I actually have not received this book yet. But I have read it. I took it out of the library in preparation for working with my church ebay auction and setting up its site. It does go beyond eBay but in doing so you understand better how eBay works and how everything connects. I found it very interesting.
this book was very informative, it was easy to understand and was a great help to me, since i didnt know a lot about ebay. This book is a must for all ebayers
