I do have a slight bias I must admit. I have played with two sets of Ping irons and greatly respect their craftsmanship and overall quality. I tried this putter at my local golf shop and knew that my Odyssey putter's days were numbered. Also I gave the iWi Anser a go and I though for the price the Karsten series was quite comparable and for me personally, to not have the option to adjust, correct, or "fiddle" with any weight on the putter is one less distraction. The look of the putter is classic as well as the play. I have seen a solid improvement in my putting because the "pop" you get of the putter face is consistent and provides true speed without having to force the ball like I was used to. I have noticed that my putts have been rolling more true because of this. I can't say enough good about this putter. For a retail MSRP of $89 or so this putter should be considered by anyone interested in a flat style quality putter. I think my only other option, if price was no concern, would be the redwood series. For nearly $200 less I am entirely content.Read full review
I have had a Ping Anser 2 since I first started to golf. I have tried other putters (Scotty Cameron, Taylor Made, etc) but I had always gone back to my old Ping. When I saw a brand new Karsten Answer for sale I jumped at the chance to buy a new one (and got a great price on E-Bay). This putter is a little more solid than my old Ping putter however I love the feel of it. I will not be going back to my old Ping Anser, I will be using my new one from here on. Great feel, weight and distance all rolled into one putter.
I haven't had it on the course yet but with several sessions on the putting green it seems to be a very accurate putter with what seems to be a hot face. My problem with my old putter was leaving too many putts short. That has not been a problem. I am not adjusting my stroke to the hotter face. The ball rolls very well off the face seeming to stay on track very well. When I make a decent stroke the distance control is very consistent. Right now there is nothing about this putter that I do not like. Overall, this was a very good decision.
I enjoy all the Ping products I have, especially the ping putters. I do believe the Ping products are the best on the market. I have many putters that I have used over the years. I resently aquired a Ping Anser Titianium putter that I really enjoy using. It have a milled face and many other technical feature. It have a good line of sight and the ball comes off the face rolling and very strait.
I don't know how many tournaments have been won with guys using Ping Putters. Quite a few I'd imagine. Every time I look at the pros with their Scotty Cameron putters I think it's just a Ping knock off. I think the original is still the best. It has been copied by just about every manufacturer, get the original. Still the best putter out there. Not putting great practice more!
