This 3 terabyte hard drive is as compact as the passport brand that I purchased years ago, but this one seems to be a little slower. It doesn't matter to me that much because I don't use it on a regular basis. It just stores information. You know how thunderstorms can ruin a hard drive. This one took all day to simply write 1500 gigs of data, which were mostly pictures and movies from a couple years of phone camera use. Since the price was right it was definitely a good deal. I recommend it for similar use, but don't drop it. It's not a solid state.
