The guy who built these amps is amazing. Had a degree in physics as a teenager or something insanely prodigy like. Bio is available online as are enthusiast groups. Brilliant design is ground-breaking. The guy totally understands AC physics which is how he was able to accomplish this in a day before super-capacitors & digital circuit topology. At 700+ watts and coming in at under 15 kilos (with no cooling fan needed) - aliens could learn a few things from this guy's designs! And sound quality? This amplifier has such dampening capability that it maintains tight positional regulation of the drivers - even under high-power stresses. In other words - the music controls driver movement -- never overload-related "break-away" cone movements. It is an experience that ONLY owners of ultra-high power amplifiers have come to love & expect in design performance. Never buy an amp based solely on a review, but if you ever get a chance to audition one of Carver's designs - DO!Read full review

There is nothing like the "old school" amplifiers; they don't make home amplifiers that way anymore. So if you ever can grab your hands on an "old school" amplifier don't procrastinate - buy it. The Carver M1.5t offers SOLID SMOOTH Bass; None Fatigue Mid-ranges and nice "crisp" highest. You GO Carver!!!!!

I bought my 1.5t used in 1998, but within a couple years of ownership, it developed a buzz that a respected local repair shop couldn't isolate and thus repair. I wound up shipping my unit to Carver Audio Repair in Washington state. I would very highly recommend having them go through any used Carver product. The amp came back in perfect working order and has performed flawlessly since. I'm very guilty of feeling my music (everything from Beethoven to White Zombie) so I run it hard on a regular basis and it continues to function as it should. Make sure before buying a 1.5t or any Carver product that your speakers can handle the prodigious power output generated by one of these amps. Also, be prepared to get requests from neighbors - two blocks away!

This was the 1st Hifi piece I ever owned when I bought my first 1.5t in the 80's. This amp is everything I remember that it was. Tons of power, great detail and warmth.

Amp is awesome. More than enough power to handle about any situation. Crisp clean highs and tight lows. I could not be happier.
