They work as expected. A bit hard to ignite (especially in windy conditions) but otherwise pretty good for starting fire. The package is actually pretty small as well as the tablets themselves (diameter is close to the one of a quarter). They burn clean and hot. But to really use them for cooking you would waste them. The main purpose is to start fire or do some small experiments. In reality, be careful with the price. I actually found them at a store at the same price. But w/o a risk of being disappointed. Unless no store around you carry it buy online.

I have done a side by side comparison with Esbit, and this stuff is not nearly as pure. It leaves a big lump of crud when finished burning. The Esbit leaves only about 3% of it's initial volume. Esbit is more money, so you get what you pay for. These tabs burn well and "work", but you have to clean toe "stove" after use.

This stuff smells to high heaven, but will warm up a meal, so you can have a hot dinner. I don't use it for boiling water, as my aluminum beer bottle alcohol is by far faster.
