Good quality for the price. The hooks slide down to secure all types of bikes like cruisers that don’t hang well on the suspended type carriers. They needed a little electric tape to give them more friction but all things considered, a good product. It is heavy and solid. May bottom out if you have a steep drive.

The Ecotric RACK-A54 4 bicycle rack is of good and strong quality, but be aware of the following to make the best of the bicycle rack functions. The rack weights about 50-60 lbs. Must buy a locking pin for the hitch hook up to guard against theft The rack does not fold up like other racks do and you must find appropriate parking to compensate for the bike rack not folding upwards, but with that fold up option the cost doubles for bike racks. The arms of the bike rack do fold up for storage or so that when you park people wont mess around with the bike rack. I put 4 bicycles ( 20inch bike, 24inch bike, 26 ince bike and a 27.5 inch bike) on the rack and I adjusted all the tire bases for each bicycle and the fit was good, The hooks that hold the bikes are padded but the pads are low quality. I suggest you add better quality padding on the hooks and also on the bikes where the hooks make contact with the frame to avoid scratches on the bikes. I purchased grey pipe insulation from Homedepot that looks like the beach noddles that are use to float at the beach, lake or pool. The bicycle locking mechanism works good only if you lock the bikes using a wrench to turn the locking wheel. You also need the wrench to unlock the bikes. The use of a wrench is a must so carry a wrench with you all the time or become creative to find your way to secure the bicycles. If you try to lock the bicycles by hand it might appear that the bikes are tighten well and secured but as you start to drive they become loose from vibration. The bikes will not be secured and you might loose a bike(s) and cause an accident behind you as you drive. I drilled holes through the locking hook mechanism and the metal rod where the hooks slide and I used a screws and nuts to secure the hooks to the rod where the hooks slide in and it much less time to mount and remove the bicycles instead of using the locking wheel of the hooks with the wrench. Over all I am happy with the purchase of this bike rack once I fixed the things I mentioned and you will be also.Read full review

This bike carrier is very solid, made from serious metal. If you have a girls bike that has no top bar then this is very difficult to use. The downfall of this rack is the handles that you use to tighten top clamps and wheel holders. When you tighten the clamps everything is fine, but when you lossen them the handle unscrews and the nut stays tight. So if you don't bring a 17mm wrench everywhere you go, you're going to have a bad day. The top clamps are covered in some kind of rubber that somehow poorly holds the bike while leaving marks on your frame. Bottom line is I wish I could go back and pay twice the price for a better rack. Unless you are hauling around $99 huffys don't mess up your expensive bikes with this rack. Assembly was difficult, the "instructions" consist of a black and white drawing, the pictures on eBay were more useful than the instructions.Read full review

I like the bike rack very much, beware it is very heavy and your hitch has to be very heavy and securely mounted to hold it. It is long and has good clearance. It does stick quite far out behind the vehicle. You will not find a better built heavier bike rack at this price point anywhere else. I am thinking about shortening it and using for 2 bikes only (one hacksaw cut), mostly I carry just 2 bikes but wanted a heavy duty rack of this type. You could not buy the steel and build the rack for what it costs, all and all it is a great deal!

It was ok if you only need it occasionally. Make sure you have a wrench handy at all times! Mechanisms do not adjust correctly and you’ll need the wrench. It’s HUGE. No way to make it smaller when you only need 2 spaces. Doesn’t fold up. Damaged my son’s bike as the lock comes down on the bar, not the wheel. Used it twice and bought a Thule.
