I have watched the Biggest Loser over the years and while Jillian's techniques sometimes seemed more effective (I think she coached more of the winning contestants), Bob's technique seemed more like a trusted friend. Having battled obesity my entire life (I am 43), I recently decided that the change I need to make is to learn to 'think like a skinny person'. Not a month later, Bob's book came out. It is handy, straight forward, and has a simple set of twenty rules to follow to be thin for life. While I am still on my journey (I am currently not in the right head space), I belive that the tools presented in this book will prove invaluable to living a healthy life - for the rest of my life. I purchased this book to establish better eating habits. I workout 3-5 times a week, however, eat anything I want. I am finding it harder to maintain my weight as I get older. Bob has written a clear plan that is simple to execute in a busy familys schedule such as mine. From buying organic, cooking ideas, drinking calories, and protein, to exploring labels and ingredients I have worn these pages out learning how to improve my health and my famlies health. I love everything about this book! I have followed both Jackie Warner and Jillian Michaels, done their workout and read their books. Although I love Jillian and Jackies work Bob's book is by far my personal favorite and has been the most useful for me to integrate in my daily life. Well worth the money!!!
I checked out this from the library and quickly knew I needed to buy one. Bob has a great way of cutting through the diet noise and getting down to the reality of getting to skinny. The rules are clear and really not hard to follow. I really appreciate his candid honesty about several rules - if this was easy, everyone would be skinny! LOL But he makes it attainable. The recipes are really good and simple to create too. I just started week two and lost 2.5 pounds the first week. To finally move the number on the scale was huge for me! I am a relatively healthy person but about 20 lbs overweight. His emphasis on a healthy lifestyle is much more motivating than doing a 'diet'. Highly recommend this - it's a solid lifestyle change - not a fad diet.
