I kept wondering why it was becoming so hard to polish my copper and brass items. I was using Brasso, but it was no longer doing the job. Then I read somewhere that Brasso had altered its formula to make it less "toxic". That's the Brasso in the plastic can, not the metal. So I went online to good ole Ebay and found this product, Twinkle Copper Brass Cleaning. I am already using Twinkle for silver items, and it's the best! So I ordered Twinkle Copper Bras Cleaner, and wow, this stuff is the real thing! Gentle on the hands, yet my brass/copper objects sparkle like new, without me exerting much effort. It also doesn't have an unpleasant smell! I'm so happy to have found it.

I decided to purchase this after seeing all the positive reviews, but now having used it I can't understand how there can be so many positive reviews unless there's something wrong with the jar I received. I have a very old lamp that was horribly tarnished. I stopped trying to keep it polished because it was too much work using Brasso. I decided to try the Twinkle because it sounded so easy to use - and it was! In no time at all I had a beautiful, shining brass lamp that I could hardly stop looking at. I don't think it's ever been as clean in all years I've known it to be in my family. However, in less than a week I thought I noticed it wasn't looking as shiny. Upon closer inspection, I discovered not only was it not as shiny and is already tarnishing (worse than before), but it's turning a strange color and now has a lot of dark, ugly smudges on it I'd never seen before. I am REALLY hoping this product hasn't permanently damaged the finish on a lamp that has been in my family for over 50 years. It took quite a bit of the product to clean the lamp and it's a small lamp, so if this is the best Twinkle does and this is as long as a polishing lasts - and unless you want to be cleaning your piece weekly - I'd say don't waste your money. I used Brasso in the past and while it was a lot of work, it didn't turn the brass strange colors and it stayed shiny for a long time. Read full review

The product works. So I can recommend it for working. The price is right for what it is. Be prepared to put a lot of work into cleaning your brass pieces. The paste has a grit within it that you can feel with your finger tips. The sponge that is in the cleaner is only just short of being as useless as sleeves on a vest. You're going to need soft rags, like old crew socks, Q-tips, wooden toothpicks, and heavy twine to help you get into the nooks and crannies of say a Stiffel lamp or a Candlestick holder. You've got to rub the paste in with a wet rag and work the hell out of it to realize the polished sheen you expect from a restored brass piece. This stuff in no "gimme". You earn every bit the the results you achieve. Great if you need to kill two hours for a Saturday afternoon project.

I have used this product since I can remember and was very saddened as my store stopped offering it. I tried other product but didnt like the results. This product is not messy and works every time.

I have been using this product since my childhood (over five decades ago), and I have always found it great for maintaining copper, brass, and stainless steel.
